A New Direction

We are London’s leader in cultural education, connecting children, young people and education with the best of arts and culture. Our aim is for everyone to have a great cultural education and the freedom to lead a creative life.

Create Jobs is our employability initiative supporting young Londoners aged 16 – 24 to find work in the creative industries. It exists to build London’s next creative generation, ensuring equal access to roles in the creative industries regardless of wealth, background and ethnicity. The aims of the initiative are to: address the lack of diversity within the creative industries; provide alternative routes to employment through industry led work-based learning, practical training, master classes and networking; support basic employability and 21st century skill sets; find and nurture London’s next creative talent and; provide a voice for London’s next creative generation who suffer from lack of access to opportunities.

With the help from the fund, we can run our Ambassadors project, which will create a step change in recruitment practice in the creative industries. Through practical training, employment opportunities and a network of industry contacts we will support a cohort of 250 young East Londoners to develop the skills, confidence and knowledge to access creative careers. From this cohort 35 young people will be placed into meaningful, sustained creative employment, with all 250 participants supported to access creative careers through industry-relevant information, advice and guidance.
