Lancashire Social Enterprise Project
We are Selnet Ltd and we specialise in social enterprises – business models that help to address social problems. We provide information, training and networking opportunities for our members across Lancashire, including guidance from qualified business advisors and seminars on business topics. We also offer ongoing mentoring and run programmes offering in-depth support.
This funding will allow us to run our Lancashire Social Enterprise Project, which will target people across the county, particularly in deprived areas, to promote social enterprise and self-employment as alternatives to the traditional labour market. It will also provide the skills and support for people looking to set up their own enterprises.
Funding would allow us to: target more than 200 people – including the young, over-50s and women – to raise awareness of social enterprise and self-employment as career options; and to start 30 new businesses by providing one-to-one business development support and delivering seminars to small peer groups on core business skills.
