We are Ballymena Business Centre, a Northern Irish charity focused on promoting enterprise.
We believe in creating a nurturing environment where individuals can achieve, entrepreneurial dreams can be realised and businesses can flourish.
Thanks to the Ulster Bank Skills & Opportunities Fund grant we are receiving, we can now advance our Midtown Creative project. This aims to give individuals from rural and deprived areas the opportunity to start a creative business in Midtown Makers Studio and Shop, a regeneration project located in Ballymena town centre.
This innovative environment will enable entrepreneurs to take their first step in the world of business, to launch their creative business and to sell in prime, high-street incubation premises.
Specifically, the funding will provide creative retail pods for 10 participants to locate their business in and sell from, as well as wrap-around support, including Ready 4 Retail Workshops, one-to-one coaching and cluster events.
Ballymena Business Centre will match fund £1 for £1 by sponsoring incubation space rent, rates and operating costs in Midtown Makers Studio and Shop for 10 months. As well as the 10 makers directly benefitting, best practice visits will also inspire up to 100 individuals.
